Walk & Run “Mi-eating” Asparagus Festival – Rokugo, Furano

Held in the scenic Rokugo area—made famous by the beloved Japanese drama From the Northern Country (Kita No Kuni Kara)—this event combines the joy of outdoor exercise with local gourmet food. Choose from a 12.4 km run or a more relaxed 5 km walk through the great outdoors. Afterward, enjoy freshly harvested Furano asparagus dishes along with locally made sausages, Furano Delice pudding, and other delicious regional specialties. Furano-dake & Genshigahara Summer Mountain Opening

This annual hiking event marks the official opening of the summer trekking season in Furano. There are three routes to choose from depending on your experience level. Advanced hikers can challenge the full traverse route from Genshigahara to Tokachidake Onsen via Mount Furano, or opt for the scenic waterfall course. Beginners may prefer the more relaxed Genshigahara course, which passes through wetlands and conifer forests.
